Simplicity is a clue (there are many) self reflection and" becoming the witness" are what meditation cultivate, becoming the witness of what? of our thoughts which lead us to our beliefs which lead us to our patterns of unconsious acts. Getting comfortable with the uncomfortableness of pain by resting in it to release all triggers, allows us to then fly away like a butterfly from the burdens we are attached to carrying. Release the burdens of painful memories and beliefs and spread your wings towards the light of wisdom.
‎"The first thing to becoming a master of oneself is to become more conscious of... your acts and your thoughts. Unconsciousness is slavery, consciousness is mastery."

"Unconsciousness is a wandering outside; consciousness is a deepening of the inside."

"The Truth is simple. There is nothing more to it. It is simply this: consciousness is bliss, unconsciousness is misery." ~ OS
