The master is not looking for a specific answer but for evidence that the disciple has grasped the state of mind expressed by the kōan itself." It's all in one's experience otherwise it means nothing...intellect can not stand alone. Intellect and wisdom are two different animals. Being clever is not the same as being smart....in my humble experience.
